Athlete Code of Conduct

As a valuable member of the Burlington Track & Field Club, I understand and accept that I am an ambassador to the sport of Athletics, and that I represent the Burlington Track & Field Club. I will do nothing to bring discredit upon the club, the coaching staff, other members, meet officials, or myself.

I will:

  • Act respectfully toward coaches, officials, teammates and opponents
  • Arrive to practices and meets on time and ready to participate
  • Support each athlete’s right to participate without distraction
  • Use respectful language in appropriate tones
  • Respect coaching staff selections for competition events
  • Abide by the Burlington Track & Field Club by-laws

I will not:

  • Use bullying or harassing behavior of any kind, either in person or through any other forms of contact

In addition to the above, as members of Athletics Ontario, senior athletes must familiarize themselves and abide by the AO Athlete Code of Conduct and all of AO’s rules, policies and procedures.

Actions that are not in accordance with this code can result in temporary or permanent suspension in club membership.
