"Girls In Motion" GIM is a Truro Lions original program offered to girls and those who identify as female, age 10-14years. Led by an all female coaching staff, each week introduces a new event over 7 weeks including Sprints/blocks/relays, Hurdles, Long /Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin throw, Shot Put/Discus, and Distance. A Tetrathlon mini meet may be included on the final day. Using track and field activities and skill challenges lead by instructors specifically trained to teach the fundamentals of running, jumping, and throwing our goal is to provide a physical activity program in a safe space that serves as a strong foundation and encourages girls to continue to participate in athletics.
We are offering a 7 week summer session beginning June 10.
No session July 1st.
June 10 - Javelin with Jess
June 17 - Long /Triple Jumps with Jennessa and Kay
June 24 - Shot Put/Discus with Sydney
July 8 - Hurdles with Ally
July 15 - Sprints with Sherry
July 22 or 23 - High Jump with Tammy
July 29 - Distance with Joy
- Each session will run 7 weeks on Mondays from 6:00 - 7:00pm at $60 per session, plus Athletics NS annual fee for new or renewing members

- All indoor sessions will be at the Cougar Dome, outdoor will be at the CEC football field
- Each participant will receive a GIM club t-shirt 1/year
