Development and Senior Athletes - The club will sell you a competition singlet for $75. The singlet will be yours to keep, and you will receive a new singlet in the size you have requested. The club will not purchase singlets back after the season; however, the club will not prevent you from selling the singlet to another athlete if you choose.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Edmonton Thunder Track and Field Club (the “ETTFC”) athletic sports program, related events, competitions, and activities, including training with ETTFC coaches and/or training groups during ETTFC training times the Participant and each of their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns do hereby agree:
1.To abide by the rules of conduct as set forth by the ETTFC (the “ETTFC”) and its coaches.
2.That the Participant acknowledges that their participation is voluntary and that he or she understands that participation in ETTFC activities involves risks, dangers and hazards including but not limited to the risk of serious injury or death and negligence on the part of ETTFC, which includes failure by ETTFC to take reasonable steps to safeguard or protect the Participant from injury or from the risks, dangers and hazards of participation in ETTFC activities. The Participant understands that it is the Participant’s responsibility to learn about and understand the risks, dangers and hazards of participating in ETTFC activities and the Participant chooses to take part in ETTFC activities at his or her own risk.
3.The Participant states that he or she is in proper physical condition to participate in athletic activities and is aware that participation could, in some circumstances, result in physical injury.
4.The Participant assumes all risks involved in participating in ETTFC activities and does hereby release, waive and discharge ETTFC, its directors, officers, coaches, employees, volunteers, independent contractors, agents, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (the “Releasees”) from any and all liabilities, claims, suits, demands, actions and causes of action of any sort for injuries sustained by the Participant (including death resulting therefrom) arising out of or as a consequence of the Participant participating in ETTFC activities whether due to breach of contract, negligence or any other fault, including, without limitation, gross negligence or wilful act or omission on the part of the Releasees. The Participant assumes all risks of injury (including death arising therefrom) that may be sustained in connection with the Participant’s participation in ETTFC activities.
5. To indemnify the Releasees for any loss or damage which may be sustained by reason of any injury to the Participant or other Participants, however arising, and for any damages, expenses and costs arising from any liability, loss or damage or expense of any kind which may arise or be incurred while, or as a result of, the Participant participating in ETTFC activities. This indemnification includes all loss and consequential losses including any legal fees which may be incurred in defending any action initiated by the Participant, other participants or, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns.
6. The Participants acknowledge that they are familiar with the facilities, locations or premises upon which ETTFC activities will take place and know and consent to the risks and dangers involved in such activities.
The Participant acknowledges that ETTFC is not responsible or under any obligation to place any facility, location or premises in any other condition than what currently exists so as to insure the Participant's safety. The Participant acknowledges that he or she has read and understood all clauses of this agreement and agree to be legally bound by its terms. The Participant is aware that by signing this Release Agreement the Participant waives certain legal rights which the Participant or its heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives may have against ETTFC.
Edmonton Thunder Code of Conduct
ATHLETE EXPECTATIONS AND CONDUCT
As an athlete;
~ I will remember that coaches and officials are there to help me and I will show them respect.
~ I will not make/communicate (verbally, through email or any form of social media) offensive, abusive, or insulting
remarks toward any other athlete, coach, official, volunteer or parent.
~ I will be thoughtful and cautious when using social media. I will not post anything that would embarrass myself
or the club. I am responsible for what I post.
~ I will show good sportsmanship, remember that winning isn’t everything and I will acknowledge the performances
of all my opponents. I will be supportive and not distracting while cheering for my teammates.
~ I will act in a respectful manner and not use inappropriate or vulgar language.
~ I will wear appropriate attire while at practices and meets. Please see uniform and clothing for specifics.
~ I will come prepared for practice with a water bottle, appropriate clothing and accessories for inclement
weather.
~ I will take care of myself. I will do this by eating healthy food, getting enough sleep and abstaining from drugs,
alcohol, vaping and tobacco.
~ I will do my best to be a team player and consistently display a high standard of behavior.
PARENT/GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS AND CONDUCT
As a parent/guardian;
~ I will remember that my expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on my child’s attitude toward other
athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers and other parents.
~ I will exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.
~ I will not make or communicate (verbally, through email or any form of social media) offensive, abusive, or insulting remarks toward any athlete, coach, official, volunteer or parent.
~ I will respect and show appreciation for volunteers, coaches and officials and remember that children learn best by example.
~ I will demand a sport environment that is free from drugs, tobacco, vaping and alcohol.
~ I will be on time picking up my athlete from practice or meets.
~ I will make a commitment to volunteer and assist the track club and community when asked or needed.
I acknowledge that I have read the Edmonton Thunder Track and Field Expectations and Conduct and the Athletics Alberta
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteer and fundraising commitments: Volunteer and fundraising commitments: Every 2 years, Edmonton Thunder receives a casino date to work and raise money for the club. In the years in which we have a casino, each family will need to commit to 2 shifts. In non-casino year we do a fundraising event. Each family will be responsible for participating in the event. In addition, each athlete's family will be required to volunteer at a minimum of 1 full day track meet or 2 half day track meets during the year. Please check below that you have read and agree to this commitment.
