This year’s Ontario Summer Games will be taking place in Mississauga! The athletics portion of the games will occur on Friday, July 22 – Saturday, July 23. Athletes that are interested in being selected for the team must complete an athlete declaration, link below. The competition will be a 4 team setup for both the U14 (born in 2009 or after) and U16 (born in 2007 or after) age divisions, as well as a para division. Details such as the qualification window and, event standards, team composition, fees, etc can be found on the Athlete Criteria document linked below.
Important Dates:
May 6 – Coach Application Deadline
April 1, 2021 – June 19, 2022 – Athlete Qualification Period
June 16, 2022 – Athlete Declaration Deadline
June 21, 2022 – Athlete Team Selection
July 21 – July 24 – Ontario Summer Games – St. Marcellinus Secondary, Mississauga, ON
July 21 – Check-in, team training, opening ceremony
July 22- Competition Day 1
July 23 – Competition Day 2, departure
Expenses:
A $25.00 fee will be required in the initial declaration of each athlete. This will be refunded if the
athlete is not selected, and will be put towards the athlete team fee if selected. This is a split funded project. Selected athletes are responsible for travel to and from the venue.
A team fee of $150.00 + HST (minus the $25.00 declaration fee) will be required which will help
subsidize accommodation, food and team gear costs. It is mandatory for athletes to stay with the
team during competition.
