Important Note to BC High School Athletes and Coaches/Athletic Directors
The following is a BC School Sports rule regarding Kamloops Track and Field Club hosting this meet. There are some ramifications, and Kamloops Track and Field Club has met all of the criteria. This meet is sanctioned by both BC
School Sports and BC Athletics.
BCSS policy allows non-members to host events in any of our 18 sports, but the hosting group (post-secondary institution, individual or organizations) must obtain sanctioning to allow BCSS member schools to participate in the event. Without this,teams are ineligible to play or would be subject to penalty if they do. All sanctioned events will be listed on the BCSS website, so schools are aware that it has been sanctioned.
** Very Important for BC School Athletes. Each BC School Athlete must have been claimed this year by their school on MileSplit by their Athletic Director. If a non-claimed athlete competes at this meet, he or she may be barred from competing in their Zone Championship meet and the BC High School Provincial Championship. Please confirm with your AD that you have been claimed by your school before registering for the Battle of the Border.
Alberta schools would have to have permission of their Provincial Sports Body to compete. They would have to contact BC School Sports to confirm that the meet has been sanctioned with them.
